Turbulence-model selection chooses an approximation for unresolved flow fluctuations, such as RANS or LES families. Reynolds number, separation, near-wall treatment, mesh resolution, time scale, transition, computational cost, and validation data determine whether a model is appropriate.
OpenFOAM Turbulence Model Selector applies this concept to its defined inputs and workflow. It is designed to suggest OpenFOAM turbulence model and wall-treatment starters.
The helper structures form values and returns turbulenceProperties text, decision visual, and field reminders so decisions and omissions can be reviewed explicitly. The selected units and sign or reference conventions must describe one consistent physical case. It supports preparation and independent checking rather than replacing the governing software, standard, evidence, or professional review. The selector does not configure full LES, transition, compressible, buoyant, multiphase, or rotating-flow turbulence models.
